Silicone Defoamer & Antifoaming Agent for Industrial Foam Control | INVINO®

INVINO® silicone defoamers are organosilicone emulsion antifoaming agents designed for continuous foam suppression in demanding industrial processes. They are the preferred choice for systems requiring broad pH tolerance, high-temperature stability, and fast macro-foam knockdown — including wastewater biological aeration tanks and MBR units, textile high-temperature overflow dyeing, waterborne coatings grinding, pulp washing and paper mill loops, and metalworking cutting fluids.

INVINO silicone defoamer formulations combine hydrophobized silica and modified organosilicone polymers in a stable emulsion base. Key performance characteristics: dosage as low as 100–500 ppm relative to process volume; no surface cratering or oil drift when applied within verified dosage ranges; shear-resistant siloxane backbone that maintains defoaming activity under continuous mechanical agitation; and operating temperature tolerance up to 90°C for specialized grades. All formulations are free from NP and APEO regulated compounds.

Frequently Asked Questions — Silicone Defoamer & Antifoaming Agent

Q. Will silicone defoamer leave surface spots or cratering defects on coatings or paper?

No. INVINO silicone defoamers use modified organosilicone emulsions with verified dispersion stability. When dosed correctly, they do not cause oil drift, phase separation, or surface cratering. If surface defects occur, they are typically caused by overdosing or incompatibility with the specific process medium — contact our engineers for a dosage or formulation review.

Q. Can INVINO silicone defoamers be diluted with water on-site?

Yes. INVINO silicone defoamer concentrates can be used directly via dosing pump or diluted with water on-site before addition. On-site dilution requires compatible stabilizing buffers to maintain emulsion integrity. Contact our technical team for a dilution protocol specific to your process.

Q. How do INVINO silicone defoamers perform under high mechanical shear?

INVINO silicone defoamers use modified siloxane polymer backbones that maintain structural integrity under continuous high-shear agitation. INVINO-2430 is specifically formulated for MBR units and high-shear biological wastewater systems where sustained mechanical stress would destabilize conventional emulsions.

Q. What is the maximum operating temperature for INVINO silicone defoamers?

Standard grades maintain active performance up to approximately 82°C (180°F). Specialized grades such as INVINO-5023 are validated for continuous operation up to 90°C in high-temperature environments including oilfield brine systems and textile overflow dyeing.

Q. Why does stratification occur in silicone defoamer emulsion during storage?

Minor top-layer separation after prolonged storage is a normal physical characteristic of high-solid emulsions — it does not indicate product degradation. Low-shear agitation before use fully restores the emulsion to uniform consistency without any loss of defoaming performance.

Q. What is the recommended dosage for INVINO silicone defoamers?

General dosage ranges from 100 to 500 ppm (0.01% to 0.05% by weight) relative to total process liquid volume. Exact dosage depends on the surfactant load, temperature, and shear conditions of your specific system. Dosage is verified through laboratory pre-screening before sample dispatch — we do not recommend adjusting dosage without engineering consultation.
