Defoamer for pulp

Why should use defoamer for pulp?

Using defoamer in the pulp and paper industry is essential due to the significant amount of industrial alkali lignin, undegraded hemicellulose, inorganic salts, and sugars present in papermaking black liquor. Throughout various stages such as washing, screening, bleaching, concentration, pulp supply, sizing, coating, and black liquor recovery, foam can cause operational difficulties, reduce pulp quality, result in fiber loss, increase costs, and contribute to environmental pollution.

The effectiveness of black pulp application is studied from the perspective of molecular structure. By modifying papermaking black liquor through physical compounding and amination reaction methods, we prepare advanced pulp and papermaking black liquor antifoams. Compared to traditional pulp antifoams, INVINO’s antifoams have a lower methoxy content, higher surface activity, superior foaming and foam suppression performance, require less dosage under the same conditions, defoam faster, and maintain their effectiveness longer.

Usage of defoamer for pulp and papermaking black liquor

Defoamer can be added directly to the required defoaming system by using a dripping pump. Recommended dosage is 0.08-0.5kg per ton of initial pulp and 0.05-0.3kg antifoams per ton of air-dried pulp.

Note: Defoamer can be diluted but the dilution solution must be used  within 12 hours after being diluted, and the dropping point should be improved according to the specific dosage effect on site.
