Defoamer for Phosphoric Acid Production | Wet Process Foam Control
Foam during phosphate rock digestion is a serious drag on a wet-process phosphoric acid (WPA) plant. It cuts the reactor's effective volume, slows gypsum (calcium sulfate dihydrate) crystallization, and chokes vacuum filtration — directly lowering P2O5 recovery. The foam comes mainly from CO₂ released as the rock reacts, plus organic matter in the rock, all inside a highly corrosive acid environment.
INVINO® makes silicone-free aliphatic hydrocarbon defoamers built to stay stable in strong acid (pH 1.0–2.0) and the 75–85°C of a standard dihydrate (DH) reactor. They speed up slurry degassing to stop filter-cloth blinding and protect maximum P2O5 recovery.

Technical FAQ for Phosphoric Acid Producers
Q: Will the defoamer reduce P2O5 recovery or harm gypsum crystal quality?
A: No. A poorly formulated antifoam can break under heavy agitation and leave oily residues that distort calcium sulfate dihydrate crystals. INVINO-P9502 is chemically inert to crystallization, keeping clean rhombic crystals so the filter cake washes fast.
Q: Silicone vs. non-silicone — which is right for WPA?
A: Use non-silicone. Standard silicone (dimethylpolysiloxane) fluids can break down in hot, concentrated phosphoric acid and form silica deposits that blind the vacuum filter cloth. We use a non-silicone aliphatic defoamer that avoids filter blinding and membrane fouling.
Q: Does the defoamer cause scaling in the acid evaporators?
A: No. The active is low-volatility and splits cleanly into the gypsum cake during belt filtration, so it does not carry over into the vacuum evaporators or cause carbon scaling on heat-exchanger walls.
