Project Description

Adhesive Antifoams for Industrial Applications | Foam Control Agent

Foam during water-based adhesive compounding and high-speed coating lowers processing density, makes film thickness uneven, and weakens the final bond strength. High-shear blending plus strong anionic surfactants pull in air pockets. The challenge is removing that air without causing separation.

INVINO® makes non-silicone polyethers and modified silicone defoamers that knock down surface foam and release micro-bubbles in high-solids emulsions. They stay compatible with the matrix, preventing fish eyes, pinholes, and craters across pressure-sensitive adhesives and resin emulsions.

Applications of Adhesive Antifoams

Water-Based Adhesives

For packaging adhesives, label production, and paper coating. High compatibility cuts micro-bubbles without weakening the bond.

Packaging & Paper Systems
Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives

For shipping labels, protective tapes, and technical bonding agents. Speeds degassing under roller pressure and avoids fish eyes and pinholes.

PSA Tape & Label Processing
Resin Emulsions

Stable through base polymer synthesis, architectural paints, and protective compounds. Stays uniform in tank storage without phase separation.

Choose INVINO® for Reliable Adhesive Antifoams

Q: Will the defoamer weaken the bonding strength of the adhesive?

A: No. Overdosing raw silicone oil forms floating layers that disrupt polymer wetting and lower peel strength. Our defoamers are shear-emulsified to disperse evenly, protecting both cohesive and adhesive strength.

Q: Can it prevent "Fish Eyes" or pinholes during coating?

A: Yes. Fish eyes come from local surface-tension mismatch (oil clots). INVINO-G10 uses high-compatibility polyether backbones that collapse foam while keeping a smooth, continuous coating.

Q: Is it safe for food packaging adhesive applications?

A: Our grades use chemically inert block copolymers and non-toxic, low-migration components, which suits the secondary sealing of dry-food packaging. Please confirm the specific grade against your local food-contact regulation.

Q: Which types of adhesives is it suitable for?

A: Water-based systems including polyacrylic ester pressure-sensitive emulsions, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) dispersions, polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), and styrene-butadiene (SBR) resin compounds.

Q: Can it withstand high-speed mixing or coating speeds?

A: Yes. High-speed roller and slot-die coating apply sharp shear that breaks weak antifoams. INVINO-G202 is a modified silicone emulsion that stays intact and keeps working under continuous shear.

Q: Will adding defoamer change the viscosity of my glue?

A: No. At normal dosing (about 0.1%–0.3% by weight), these non-ionic polymers neither thicken nor thin the base emulsion, so your target flow rates stay the same.
